Collette Portner

Education: Bachelor of Arts, Applied Psychology, Cedar Crest College and Master of Arts, Clinical Counseling, Moravian University.

Areas of experience/specialty: I worked as a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) with children and an Intensive Case Manager (ICM) with adults. I really enjoy working with the teen population and young adults.

Previous experience/positions: During my grad program I did my internship at Haven House. I gained experience working with clients 1:1.I spent time working on treatment plans with medication management clients when I was not providing counseling.

Approach to counseling: My therapeutic approach is solution-focused with CBT techniques but will tailor my approach to the needs of the clients. I want my clients to feel a sense of trust and support when they enter every session. This is your time, I want you to get the most out of it whichever way that looks for that particular session. Therapy is collaborative and about self-development and exploration and I love watching my clients achieve that.
