Areas of experience/specialty: Works well with people of all ages and those whom struggle with things such as low self-esteem, trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
Previous experience/positions: Previously worked as a substance abuse counselor at a methadone clinic and an inpatient rehab. Also, she has worked as a counselor for adolescent male sex offenders in a residential program.
Approach to counseling: “I use a person-centered approach to help provide a safe place where clients feel comfortable to express their emotions in a healthy manner. I use an approach grounded in Gestalt psychology, which helps clients focus on the here and now and what they can control. I also use a solution-based approach to help guide clients toward coming up with ways they can live their best life.”
