Education: Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Undergraduate degree in Psychology at Eastern Nazarene College.
Areas of experience/specialty: I participated in a year-long internship program at Haven House providing strengths-based, person-centered group and individual therapy services. I have gained experience working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and many other areas of mental health.
Previous experience/positions: I began working as a therapist at Haven House in May 2020 after completing my Master’s program. I worked at Community Services for Children for one year as a therapeutic teacher for neglected and abused infants and toddlers. I also worked for an Area Agency for Aging as a case manager for one year assisting the aging and disabled population.
Approach to counseling: “My focus as a therapist is to provide a non-judgmental, “safe” space for individuals to overcome challenges and feel empowered. I have experience in a variety of treatment techniques, including, but not limited to, Coginitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I work to help promote resilience, optimism and balance for all clients.”
