Rica McKingley, MA

Education: Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University

Areas of experience/specialty: Works well with adolescents and adults navigating mental health challenges. Offering compassionate care to those seeking to explore emotions and learn healthy decision-making and coping skills.

Previous experience/positions: Previously worked with youths, adults, and seniors dealing with anxiety, ADHD, depression, bipolar, anger dyscontrol, grief, and trauma. She has also facilitated groups in the Lehigh Valley community for mothers with mental illnesses.

Approach to counseling: I appreciate using a person-centered and strengths-based approach in counseling, celebrating resiliency in clients, while exploring emotions in a non-judgmental safe space. I also integrate CBT to support clients in recognizing how thoughts and perceptions affect the way they feel and behave.  I believe that with the right tools and emotional support, individuals can begin to live their best life, beyond their diagnosis.
